Getting There

Dad's got this new phone thing and he keeps taking pictures and filming me doing just about anything. So I like to put on a show. So I'll talk about anything, especially after a jar of  Cocoa and Vanilla Pudding.

I've had this colourful wooden thing with wheels on called a 'walker' for a while now, and mostly I've just eyed it with suspicion or mild interest but I haven't really done anything with it, until last week when it became a whole lot more interesting. I can kind of see what to do with it now.  Last night and tonight my big brother Josh has helped me to hold onto it and get the thing going across the room. It's quite fun to push it. Once I get my legs going, I can make it move. Mum and Dad get excited about it but I am not sure what all the fuss is about. Anyway, Dad filmed it, so you guys see if you can make out why it's so interesting.

Wreck-It Rosie's Day

It is November, apparently, and that means I am 1 year and 1 and a half months old. I am not sure what all that means, but I think it's something to do with how much I am growing. I am growing like a weed, my Dad says. You should see the big pile of my clothes that don't fit me any more that Mummy has made. It looks like it would be fun to climb.

I like climbing - on Daddy, Mummy, my brothers, anyone who wants to hold me - I'm gonna climb on them and hang over their shoulder. I like to climb over the arm of the sofa when Dad is holding me, because that's where my toy basket is. I reach down with Daddy holding my legs and grab whatever I can reach from the basket. Usually it's my cuddly Big Bird or the big multicoloured Slinky. Sometimes it's one of my favourite books.

I have fun with Mummy and Daddy. Here's how a normal day goes for me:

First, I wake up anywhere between "what-time-is-it" and "time for Matt and Ewan to go to school". I get in Mum and Dad's bed and snuggle with mum while Dad goes and gets me a bottle of formula. I think he does other stuff too, like feeding dogs and making lunch bags and making tea for Mummy. I drink my bottle and have a diaper change and then go downstairs for a bit of breakfast and some CBeebies.

For breakfast I have a few favourites. I like anything that comes in a little jar or one of those nice Ella's Kitchen Rice Puddings with fruit, or some toast with a little jam on it. I even like those Cheerios thingies.

On Cbeebies I like to watch Mr. Tumble,

Baby Jake, Show Me Show Me,

and Waybuloo.

I like others but those are the ones that make me sit up and pay attention.

Then I go for a spin around the room in my walker or crawl around on the floor, which is great because it means I get to unload my toy basket, pull all the DVDs off the shelf and play with my Happyland shoe house.

I make such a mess sometimes all the time! It is fun! Daddy and Mummy have a new nickname for me - "Wreck-It Rosie", just like that film.

I like to talk as well. I like to say Dad, Matt, Dog, Cat, kitty, no, bye, and lots of other sounds. Just today I started to do a 'mmmmwah' sound when I kiss Mummy. I also like blowing raspberries and making my lips go blibble-blibble with my fingers. I like to hold baby wipes in my hand and wave them like hankies. Dad and Mum say I should be a Morris Dancer. I saw some Morris Dancers in town recently, I think I'll give it a miss for now.

Some days I ride in my stroller up to the town with Mum and Dad. I like it because it's a good time for a nap, but sometimes it's nice to see other people and animals. I like going to the shops and fluttering my eyelashes at strangers and making them all say how cute I am. They don't realise they are in my power, heh-heh!!

Anyway, that's all for now. Bye!

Rosie And Charlie

Today I was giving Charlie some love. I like the doggies, they are so funny. Charlie will just sit and let me get away with anything.

The Best Thing About Buggy Rides

I like it when I'm in my buggy and the path gets bumpy. I say "aaaaaaaaaaah" and it makes my voice go wibbly-wobbly. It's funny!

Happy Birthday To Me

I just had a birthday! My first one! Can you believe I'm a year old now? Doesn't seem possible, does it? Where does the time go? At least, that's what all the grownups keep saying. Me, I don't even know what words like year and time mean!

Anyhow, here's some pics from that first year.

When they called me Peanut.

Just a few minutes old.

It wasn't long before I started to show some personality...

Doing impressions...

Hitting the bars with Dad....

Getting curious....

Terrorising household pets...

Meeting loads of interesting people...

Getting teeth...

and just being downright cute all the time.
Anyway, so we had a birthday party, and it was pretty fun. Lots of people came to see me.

I had a cool birthday cake too. A nice lady named Jane made it for me.

I got some really nice toys and clothes and things for my birthday - even my very own trampoline! It was my big sister Amy's birthday the day after mine and when she came over she gave me a big cushion that looked like Sulley from Monsters Inc. (whatever that is, I haven't seen it yet. But I love Sulley anyway!)

We had Jane do a Minion cake for Amy because she loves that movie Despicable Me (again, I have no idea what that is, but the minion sure was cute!)

Anyway, if this is what birthdays are like, then I can't wait till the next one!

Swingin' Rosie

I went to the playground today with Mum and Dad. Mummy said I should try the swings but I wasn't so sure. It was alright for a minute, but then I got a bit fed up. Of course Daddy filmed the whole thing.

Teeth

I've got two teeth! They make me cranky because it hurts when they come through. But it's quite cool that I'll be able to bite things now, like Daddy's nose. I did that today when he was giving me a kiss. But he didn't mind all that much. It wasn't a proper bite, just a play nip. Here's my teeth.

See the bottom one?

And the top one?
I've got more coming. Mum and Dad can practically see them. And you know what that means. More yummy food!

I'm Sitting Up!

Lookit what I can do!

Babblin' Baby

I am talking all the time now, making cool sounds and playing with spoons. Dad shot this movie yesterday.
Here's a list of my favourite things.

  • TV Shows: Pretty much all of CBeebies, but especially Mr. Tumble and Baby Jake.
  • Toys: I like Mr. Foxy, Lenny the Lamb and my ladybird toy. Oh, and spoons.
  • Food: I like the jars of Egg Custard and the Plum baby fromage frais, and the Ella's Kitchen fruity purees.
  • Games: I like Peep-O, Daddy Tickle, and Mummy Cuddle.

My Christening

We had a party the other day. There were lots of people there, and they were all there to see me! Not to be big-headed, but well, it's understandable. I'm so cute!

But it turns out it was for my Christening. We had to go to a big old stone building first (Dad says it was a church) and that nice man Lindsay was there too.

I got a bit cranky, especially as Dad held me practically upside down while Lindsay sploshed something wet on my head. I'm not big on being washed or having a bath,  and this was a bit weird. But it didn't go on too long.

Anyway there were all sorts of people at the party.

My brothers, Matt and Ewan

A nice lady called Viv and a nice lady called Lauren. Auntie knows them.

Ewan, Amy, Nanny Pat and Auntie Charlotte

This is Dad with his friends Andy, Alastair and Nigel.

I liked having cuddles with Nick.
We had a chocolate fountain, and lots of yummy food. I just had a bottle.

It was a long and tiring day, but it was fun.
